Baseball Recap: Menendez Wins Going Away Against Godby

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph Academy, Menendez was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Godby Cougars. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Jack Roy and Reeve Power did most of the damage at the plate: Roy scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Power scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three hits gave Roy a new career-high. AJ Grueser was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Menendez's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Godby, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Menendez will face off against Rickards at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Godby, they will challenge FAMU DRS at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. FAMU DRS has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something Godby will no doubt try to take advantage of.
