Soccer Recap: South Effingham Comes Up Short

If South Effingham was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Statesboro last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Effingham Mustangs fell just short of the Glynn Academy Terrors by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Mustangs were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the three matchups prior), but the Terrors' defense proved too tough.

South Effingham moved to 3-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three contests. As for Glynn Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.

South Effingham has already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against Bradwell Institute on the 7th. As for Glynn Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Brunswick on the 7th.
