Recap: Miramonte Matadors vs. Acalanes Dons

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Miramonte Matadors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 74-66 victory over Acalanes. Given Miramonte's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Acalanes is ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marcus Robinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-9 from long range and dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jack Quinnild, who scored 12 points.

The win makes it two in a row for Miramonte and bumps their season record up to 15-7. As for Acalanes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miramonte will take on Campolindo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Campolindo will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Acalanes, they will be playing at home against Ygnacio Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ygnacio Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
