Baseball Recap: The Colony Comes Up Short

The Colony was the 3-2 winner over Reedy when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Colony Cougars took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reedy Lions on Friday.

Josiah Rojas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Keenen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The Colony dropped their record down to 10-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Reedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Colony will challenge Newman Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Reedy, they will take on Lone Star at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
