Kadoka and Philip are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kadoka will be strutting in after a victory while Philip will be coming in after a loss.
While Kougars fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. Everything went their way against Little Wound on Thursday as Kadoka made off with a 3-0 win.
Meanwhile, Philip didn't have quite enough to beat Custer on Thursday and fell 3-2.
Philip took Custer into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. After all that action, the final score was 25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 19-17.
Even though they lost, Philip was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Kadoka took their victory against Philip in their previous meeting back in August of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Philip's Alyn Spry, who had 22 digs.
