Basketball Recap: Reidsville Takes a Loss

Reidsville lost against Orange back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Reidsville Rams took a blow against the Orange Panthers, falling 59-21. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Panthers are ranked 186th).

It was another big night for Evelyn George, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards for Orange. George is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Marshea Byrd was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Reidsville dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Orange, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

When Reidsville and Orange next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Reidsville will try to stop T.W. Andrews' nine-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Orange will take on Western Alamance and their four-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
