Basketball Recap: Napaaqtugmiut Comes Up Short

If Napaaqtugmiut was riding high fresh off their 71-42 takedown of Deering on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Napaaqtugmiut Lynx fell just short of the Tikigaq Harpooners by a score of 61-59 on Saturday. The Lynx have struggled against the Harpooners recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Napaaqtugmiut saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Sage posted 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sage has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trandon Soxie, who earned nine points.

Napaaqtugmiut's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Tikigaq, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.
