Recap: Lebanon Greyhounds vs. Mt. Olive Wildcats

The Lebanon Greyhounds were the 63-40 winner over the Mt. Olive Wildcats when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lebanon took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Olive. Lebanon's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Matthew Bywater was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 21 points, 15 rebounds, and nine steals for Mt. Olive. The team also got some help courtesy of Briley Viviano, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Lebanon has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Mt. Olive, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14.

Lebanon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on First Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. First Baptist Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Mt. Olive, they will head out on the road to face off against South County at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. South County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Olive in Illinois (South County is ranked 187th, while Mt. Olive is ranked 759th).
