Volleyball Recap: New Philadelphia Takes a Loss

If New Philadelphia was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mansfield Senior on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Quakers fell 3-1 to the Wooster Generals on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Quakers in their meetings with the Generals: they've now lost seven in a row.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14, 22-25, 25-22.

Eberle Baker paced New Philadelphia's offense, picking up 13 kills. Baker got some help from Marisa Loader and her 20 assists. Aubrie Watson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Wooster was led to victory by Lily Klein and Hope Jones. Klein had 14 digs, while Jones had 15 digs and three aces. Jones is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

New Philadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wooster, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

New Philadelphia has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Lexington on the 28th. As for Wooster, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Dover on the 28th.
