Basketball Game Preview: Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers vs. Onalaska Wildcats

The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Houston Math Science & Tech has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Onalaska will arrive with six straight victories.

Last Saturday, Houston Math Science & Tech lost to Cesar E. Chavez on the road by a 59-43 margin.

Meanwhile, Onalaska hadn't done well against Big Sandy recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Onalaska blew past Big Sandy 80-46. Onalaska has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 26 points or more this season.

Houston Math Science & Tech better focus on containing Brayden Topkins and Devon Vienneau as the pair were huge in Onalaska's win. Topkins made all 10 shots he took for 27 points and six rebounds, while Vienneau went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with six assists and six boards. The game was Vienneau's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Roth, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Onalaska smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive matches.

Houston Math Science & Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Onalaska, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
