Softball Game Preview: Fairfield Mules vs. Flora Wolves

The Fairfield Mules will head out to square off against the Flora Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Fairfield will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Flora, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mules walked away with an 8-4 win over the Wolves on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mules as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kenry Hutchcraft spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Serenity Dagg was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Kayden Wells also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fairfield's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Flora, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.
