Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Cornerstone Christian extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Benjamin Lukacs. The Cornerstone Christian Cougars secured a 64-59 W over the Head-Royce Jayhawks on Saturday thanks in part to Lukacs, who posted 24 points and three steals. His afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Cornerstone Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Head-Royce, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-8.

Cornerstone Christian will face off against Athenian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cornerstone Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Head-Royce, they will take on St. Joseph Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Head-Royce knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully St. Joseph Notre Dame likes a good challenge.
