Basketball Recap: Parke Heritage Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Parke Heritage had won 12 straight home games dating back to last season and Emma Simpson did her part to make it 13 on Thursday. The Parke Heritage Wolves blew past the Shakamak Lakers 64-31 thanks in part to Simpson, who went 10 of 20 en route to 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Addilee Dawn Jenkins, who posted 11 points and five boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Parke Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Shakamak, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Parke Heritage and Shakamak are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Parke Heritage will take on South Vermillion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parke Heritage is facing South Vermillion at the right time seeing as South Vermillion is stuck on a 23-game losing streak. As for Shakamak, they will square off against Clay City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shakamak is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
