Softball Game Preview: Franklin Academy Patriots vs. Franklinton Red Rams

The Franklin Academy Patriots are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Franklinton Red Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Franklin Academy is leaving town to face Franklinton after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Franklin Academy lost 10-4 to Franklinton on Friday.

For Franklinton's part, Lily Ring made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Ring was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Madison Peebles was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

Franklin Academy might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Franklinton when the teams last played on Friday. Can Franklin Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
