Baseball Game Preview: American Canyon Wolves vs. Petaluma Trojans

American Canyon hasn't had much luck against Petaluma recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Petaluma took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on American Canyon, who comes in off a win.

American Canyon was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Sonoma Valley 7-5.

Bradley Keffer tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, American Canyon saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sovann Som, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Som has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Dylan Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Petaluma couldn't beat Saint Francis on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Trojans fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 5-4.

Dominic Fontana and Arlo Pendleton stepped up to the plate in a big way. Fontana went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI, while Pendleton went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Petaluma's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for American Canyon, their record is now 9-11.

American Canyon might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Petaluma in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
