Basketball Recap: Paxon School for Advanced Studies Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

Paxon School For Advanced Studies won the last time they faced Stanton, and Caelyn Carter did her part to make sure it happened again. The Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles breezed by the Stanton Blue Devils to the tune of 73-45 on Wednesday thanks in part to Carter, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine boards. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Trinity Hodge, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and five steals. What's more, she also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Paxon School For Advanced Studies' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Stanton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Paxon School For Advanced Studies wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-53 loss against Fletcher on the 20th. As for Stanton, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westside at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
