Soccer Game Preview: Union Mine vs. El Dorado

Union Mine hasn't had much luck against El Dorado recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Union Mine Diamondbacks will host the El Dorado Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Union Mine is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They lost 6-0 to Galt. While losing is never fun, the Diamondbacks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1161st, while the Warriors are ranked 213th).

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, El Dorado was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Amador finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Union Mine's loss dropped their record down to 2-14-1. El Dorado's draw makes their record 9-9-2 this season.

Union Mine suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to El Dorado in their previous matchup back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Union Mine was down 4-0.
