Football Recap: Palmyra-Macedon Piles Up the Points Against Newark/Marion

Palmyra-Macedon won the last time they faced Newark/Marion and things went their way on Friday too. The Red Raiders breezed past Newark/Marion to the tune of 43-8. Fans of the Red Raiders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Palmyra-Macedon had a senior duo take command as Adam Rapp Jr rushed for 146 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries and Mason Delmarle rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Those 146 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Rapp Jr.

Palmyra-Macedon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Palmyra-Macedon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jordan Goff led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Another thorn in Newark/Marion's side was Johnny Knaak, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles.

The victory keeps Palmyra-Macedon at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 45.4 points this season. As for Newark/Marion, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmyra-Macedon will take on Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newark/Marion, they will challenge Penn Yan Academy/Dundee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newark/Marion will need to watch out since Penn Yan Academy/Dundee has now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
