Softball Recap: Pace Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Pace's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's eighth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins as the Pace Patriots made off with an 11-0 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Dolphins recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Hannah DeMarcus, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Gulf Breeze off the board. DeMarcus has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned runs any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kamryn Pierce was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Britten Kettler, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Pace hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Pace pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Gulf Breeze, they moved to 4-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Pace will be playing at home against Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gulf Breeze, they will head out to take on Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give Pine Forest their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
