Volleyball Recap: Burlington Red Devils vs. Belmont Marauders

Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Belmont Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-20, 25-15.

Burlington's offense was headlined by Rohit Vijay and Ayan Suhail, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Emmanuel Mendoza and his 11 assists. Ashneel Ejenkar controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Belmont, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burlington will challenge rival Winchester at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Belmont is set to face off against their familiar foe Woburn Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
