Volleyball Recap: Pomperaug Has No Trouble Against Stratford + How To Watch

Pomperaug won the last time they faced Stratford and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 3-1. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

While Pomperaug might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Stratford scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Pomperaug found their leader in sophomore Abby O'Connell, who had five digs and two aces. O'Connell also set a new season-high mark in assists with 31. Emily Cunningham was another key player, getting 15 assists and four digs.

When it comes to explaining why Stratford lost, don't look at Sophie DeLise. Despite the final result, she had 28 digs and two aces. DeLise is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Audrey North, who had six kills and three blocks.

Pomperaug's win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Stratford, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.

Pomperaug has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against New Milford on the 24th. As for Stratford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Masuk on the 24th.
