Softball Recap: Goose Creek Comes Up Short

Goose Creek lost against Lucy Beckham back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Goose Creek Gators took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lucy Beckham Bengals. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lyric Cureton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Kalli Peake was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Goose Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lucy Beckham, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goose Creek will welcome Cane Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lucy Beckham, they will be playing at home against James Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucy Beckham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
