Softball Recap: Madison Prep Academy Wins Going Away Against Baker

Madison Prep Academy got themselves on the board against Baker on Thursday, but Baker never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over the Baker Buffaloes. The win continues a trend for Madison Prep Academy in their matchups with Baker: they've now won six in a row.

Kaila Bentley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tabrina Knighten, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kyndal Robertson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Madison Prep Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Madison Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Baker, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison Prep Academy will take on Peabody at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Baker, they will square off against Tara at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
