Soccer Recap: Hazelwood Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hazelwood East on Tuesday, Hazelwood Central came back down to earth. The Hawks lost 8-0 to the Eureka Wildcats on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hazelwood Central of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Hazelwood Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Eureka, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Hazelwood Central didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-0 victory against Jennings on the 2nd. As for Eureka, they will head out to face off against Pembroke Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
