Baseball Recap: Geneva Vikings vs. St. Charles East Fighting Saints

It was a good run, but Geneva unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the St. Charles East Fighting Saints by a score of 7-5. Geneva was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Charles East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Wednesday.

Geneva got a good showing from Shane Webb, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Nick Price made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was John Rueth, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

St. Charles East will take on Wheaton-Warrenville South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wheaton-Warrenville South will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
