Ravenna lost to Anselmo-Merna back in December of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. It was close, but the Ravenna Bluejays capped 2024 with a 38-35 victory over the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.

Anselmo-Merna's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dane Duryea, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. Duryea's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kayden Record was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ravenna's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Anselmo-Merna, they moved to 3-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Ravenna has already played their next matchup, a 45-33 loss against Pleasanton on the 28th. As for Anselmo-Merna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-32 defeat against Cambridge on the 28th.
