Baseball Game Preview: Brookwood Panthers vs. Northridge Jaguars

Brookwood is 2-8 against Northridge since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Brookwood Panthers take on Northridge Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. This will be Brookwood's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Brookwood will face Northridge after dropping another heartbreaker against Hueytown on Saturday, which marked the third time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. Brookwood fell just short of Hueytown by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since February 21st.

Brookwood saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Riley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Judson Bryant was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Northridge earned a 5-1 win over American Christian Academy on Saturday.

Northridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. Brookwood's loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Brookwood couldn't quite finish off Northridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 and fell 4-2. Can Brookwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
