Baseball Game Preview: Orono Riots vs. Fort Kent Warriors

The Orono Riots will head out to take on the Fort Kent Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Orono is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Orono lost 12-4 to Bucksport on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Riots have suffered against the Golden Bucks since June 8, 2023.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Kent, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Houlton on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Shiretowners recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Caleb Caron was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Wil Morneault, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Fort Kent always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Orono's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Fort Kent, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Orono skirted past Fort Kent 3-2 in their previous matchup back in June of 2019. Do the Riots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
