League recap: Birch Run's Sills delivers best pitching performance from past week

Tri-Valley - East's top pitcher this week was Birch Run's Pat Sills. Over the past week, he had one win and seven Ks.

Frankenmuth had a successful week, as it won two total games to lead the league. The Eagles beat Ithaca 17-5 and Carrollton 10-3.

The Panthers' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 23 hits and nine walks, both of which led the league.

Birch Run scored a league-best 40 runs this week, adding to its league-leading 187 runs on the season.

The league boasted three .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Lake Bennett, who collected six hits in 11 at bats for a .545 average.



The week's strikeout crown belonged to Sills, who turned in seven Ks for the Panthers. He's fifth in the league with 38 total strikeouts.
