Baseball Recap: Marsing Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Marsing ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 14-10 win over the Wendell Trojans. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 9-3 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Marsing got a massive performance out of Niko Godina, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Godina a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Teagan Kinney, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Marsing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Marsing's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Wendell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Marsing didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-5 loss against Nampa Christian on the 7th. As for Wendell, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Firth on the 8th.
