Recap: Alexander Cougars vs. Harrison Hoyas
The Alexander Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 46-35 to Harrison. While losing is never fun, Alexander can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Harrison is ranked 31st).
Despite the loss, Alexander still got an impressive performance from Meghan Ritchie, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Porter, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Alexander's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Harrison, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Alexander and Douglas County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
