Softball Recap: Spring Grove Find Success

Spring Grove took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kennard-Dale, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rockets won by a run and slipped past the Rams 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rockets have posted since April 27, 2024.

Jasmine Nassar and Makennah Stiles did most of the damage at the plate: Nassar scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Stiles scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Andrina Camilleri was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Spring Grove's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Kennard-Dale, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Spring Grove will welcome Red Lion at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennard-Dale, they will head out to face off against Octorara Area at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.79 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
