Basketball Game Preview: South Beloit Sobos vs. Scales Mound Hornets

The South Beloit Sobos are taking a road trip to take on the Scales Mound Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Beloit is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, South Beloit was able to grind out a solid victory over Orangeville, taking the game 59-51. The win continues a trend for the Sobos in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won three in a row.

Coltan Porter was his usual excellent self, shooting 47% from the field on his way to 24 points along with six rebounds and four steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Jaycee Schober was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Scales Mound's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 63-37 to Galena.

South Beloit's victory bumped their record up to 10-21. As for Scales Mound, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.

South Beloit couldn't quite get it done against Scales Mound in their previous meeting on Friday as they fell 57-48. Can the Sobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
