Softball Recap: Athens Gets the Win

Ten must be Athens's lucky number: they beat Rochester with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Red Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 10-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-7 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Addison Cosgrove, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Leah Dahlerup was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Athens is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Rochester, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
