Football Recap: Tucker Piles Up the Points Against Chamblee

There's no place like home for Tucker, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Chamblee Bulldogs 44-7 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Tucker can attribute much of their success to Jace German, who rushed for 92 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 94 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tucker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 333 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Tucker didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Christian Ema, Tyaire Byrd, and Samuel Bryant picked up one apiece. Tucker received some extra help from Byrd, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The win got Tucker back to even at 1-1. As for Chamblee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

After each having a week off, Tucker and Lithonia will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Chamblee, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 38-0 loss against Southwest DeKalb on the 28th.
