Basketball Recap: Buckeye Local Falls to Bellaire in First Game of Season

Buckeye Local kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 64-58 to the Bellaire Big Reds. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 59-34 to the Big Reds when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jace Violet was a one-man wrecking crew For Bellaire. as he shot 53% from the field en route to 21 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Violet a new career-high in rebounds (three). Another player making a difference was Michael Dippel, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

Coming up, Buckeye Local will take on East Liverpool at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bellaire, they will face off against Bridgeport at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
