Volleyball Recap: Fort Bend Travis Tigers vs. Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs
Fort Bend Travis was the 2-0 winner over Fort Bend Austin when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23.
Simone Robinson paced Fort Bend Travis' offense, picking up ten kills. Robinson got some help from Molly McClimans and her 24 assists. Ellie Day controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Bella Garza was nothing short of spectacular for Fort Bend Austin: she had 26 digs and two aces. Garza has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times she's played.
Fort Bend Travis has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season. As for Fort Bend Austin, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-16.
