Baseball Recap: Polk County Wolverines vs. South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Polk County had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls by a score of 7-4. Winning may never get old, but Polk County sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Lawson Carter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Alm, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

On South Stanly's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justice Buck, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Polk County's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for South Stanly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Polk County will square off against Uwharrie Charter on Friday. Uwharrie Charter is coming into the matchup with four straight wins on the road, so Polk County will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. South Stanly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
