Basketball Recap: Akiachak Comes Up Short

Akiachak suffered their closest defeat since March 2, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Newhalen Malamutes by a score of 74-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (59), the Huskies still had to take the loss.

Akiachak is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-3. As for Newhalen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

As of now, neither Akiachak nor Newhalen have any future games scheduled.
