Baseball Game Preview: Sulphur Bluff Bears vs. Campbell Indians

For the second straight game, Sulphur Bluff will face off against Campbell. The Bears will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Indians at 6:30 p.m. Sulphur Bluff is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Sulphur Bluff came up short against Campbell and fell 4-1.

For Campbell's part, Drake Sweeney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. Sweeney is becoming a predictor of the Indians' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1 (and 2-15-2 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Campbell's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Sweeney, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Sweeney a new career-high.

Sulphur Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-2. As for Campbell, they moved to 5-16-2 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
