Basketball Recap: Malekhi Hutchinson and Rue Chapman Secure Win for Southwest Onslow

Southwest Onslow won the last time they faced North Lenoir and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Southwest Onslow Stallions were the clear victor by a 72-52 margin over the North Lenoir Hawks. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Southwest Onslow to victory were Rue Chapman and Malekhi Hutchinson. Chapman posted 13 points and six steals, while Hutchinson went 5 of 6 on his way to 14 points. Chapman is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Pollock, who had eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Southwest Onslow pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for North Lenoir, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Southwest Onslow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 69-57 win against Kinston on the 8th. As for North Lenoir, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-53 loss against Wallace-Rose Hill on the 8th.
