Football Recap: Whale Branch Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Whale Branch lost against Philip Simmons back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Warriors took a blow against the Iron Horses, falling 46-14. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

A big part of Philip Simmons' win came down to the chemistry between Hayes Goddard and his top target Patrick Clarke. Goddard threw for 251 yards and four TDs while Clarke picked up 79 receiving yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Goddard racked up 135.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Omonte Taylor was in the mix too, providing Philip Simmons with one touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Whale Branch and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Philip Simmons, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Whale Branch will take on Battery Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Dolphins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.2 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Philip Simmons, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
