Basketball Recap: Mecklenburg County Comes Up Short

If Mecklenburg County was feeling good fresh off their 63-21 takedown of Windsor last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mecklenburg County Phoenix were outmatched by the Magna Vista Warriors and fell 75-43. The loss continues a trend for the Phoenix in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Mecklenburg County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Magna Vista, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Mecklenburg County has already played their next contest, a 50-28 victory against Tunstall on the 6th. As for Magna Vista, they will take on George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Magna Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully George Washington likes a good challenge.
