Preview: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Ross Little Giants

Springfield is on a six-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Ross a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Springfield Blue Devils will take on the Ross Little Giants at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Springfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.

Springfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They were the clear victor by a 68-48 margin over Woodward. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Springfield had a senior duo take command as Aaron Adams scored 11 points along with three steals and Drew Martin scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Martin grabbed two or more steals. Brandon Lawniczak was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Ross, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-51 loss to Lorain on Tuesday.

Springfield's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Ross, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Springfield came up short against Ross in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 48-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ross' Tykell Patterson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Now that Springfield knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
