Baseball Recap: Central Woodstock Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central Woodstock can now relate to. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with the Gladiators: they've now lost five in a row.

Isaac Barb was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Central Woodstock's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 9-3 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Central Woodstock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Moss, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Central Woodstock's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Riverheads, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Central Woodstock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverheads, they will take on Buckingham on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Gladiators' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
