Volleyball Recap: Lake Beats Notre Dame Academy for Their Third Straight Win

Lake entered their tilt with Notre Dame Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19.

Lake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savanna Saunders, who had seven digs and five aces. Saunders has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last seven times she's played. Calli Conley was another key player, getting 19 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Notre Dame Academy still got an impressive performance from Corinne Gaubert, who had 18 digs and three aces.

Lake's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Notre Dame Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Northview on the 23rd. As for Notre Dame Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Clay on the 25th.
