Volleyball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Triumphs

Holly Grove Christian won the last time they faced Nandua and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Holly Grove Christian was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 13-25, 25-12.

Among those leading the charge was Emily Shin, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave her a new career-high. Emily Nguyen also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Holly Grove Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 22 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Holly Grove Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Nandua, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holly Grove Christian will challenge Greenwood Mennonite at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nandua, they will head out to challenge Greenbrier Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
