Baseball Game Preview: Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons vs. Paynesville Bulldogs

The Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons will face off against the Paynesville Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Yellow Medicine East on Thursday. They lost 10-2 to the Sting. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Drange, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Paynesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of New London-Spicer. On the bright side, the ten- run performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Paynesville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Paynesville when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
