Baseball Game Preview: Spain Park Jaguars vs. Pelham Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Spain Park Jaguars challenge Pelham Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Spain Park has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Spain Park is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Clarksville Academy, who was ranked 22nd in their home state at the time (Spain Park was ranked 22nd). Spain Park fell just short of Clarksville Academy by a score of 5-4 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Pelham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Stanhope Elmore. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly two runs.

Pelham's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Spain Park, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Spain Park took their win against Pelham in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. Will Spain Park repeat their success, or does Pelham has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
