Baseball Game Preview: Wellington School Jaguars vs. Miller Falcons

The Wellington School Jaguars will take on the Miller Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wellington School's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Miller's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Wellington School fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Berne Union on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 4-2. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miller). Everything went their way against Harvest Prep on Monday as they made off with a 14-1 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bryce Dorsey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Nick Thompson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Miller always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harvest Prep only posted an OBP of .381.

Wellington School's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2. As for Miller, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Wellington School was able to grind out a solid win over Miller when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 5-0. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
